We are called to be a Godly people who think, feel, and act in harmony with the principles of heaven. The church is one body with many members, called from every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. In Christ we are a new creation; there is no distinctions of race, culture, learning, and nationality, and no differences between high and low, rich and poor, male and female. We are all equal in Christ, who by one Spirit has bonded us into one fellowship with Him and with one another. We are to serve without prejudice or condition the global community when in need.
The Community Service department in every Seventh Adventist Church performs as a local division and helps meet the needs of the community where they are located through various ministries drives; clothing distribution, feeding of the homeless as well as to spread the love of Christ by meeting the spiritual needs of all recipients.
The primary aim of The Kingsboro Temple Community Service Department is to build a bridge to the Park Slope community, which our Lord and Savior can walk across from our hearts to their hearts. We will use all the resources and talents Jesus gave us in order to win souls for Him - “I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings” Luke 16:9 (NIV)
In addition, through the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (A.D.R.A.) and other programs, the Adventist Church provides practical assistance to those less fortunate, caring for the poor and disadvantaged in many countries of the world, without regard for race, religion or nationality.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church organization, also operates youth camps, community service projects, family life counseling and other programs to assist those wishing to overcome drug addiction and alcohol or tobacco dependence.
Mission Prayer:
“Let it be known this day in my work for suffering humanity that there is a God in Israel, and that I am Thy servant Let it be seen that I am working not according to my own impulse and wisdom, but according to Thy Word" E.G. White, Manuscript Releases, vol. 1, p. 239 |
