 Soloman Islands Project

We recently received this e-mail from Janette Kingston in the Solomon Islands:

"Our Adventist population here is about 45,000. Forty percent of it is under 14 years old. Only 100 of those kids would be able to afford Sabbath school pamphlets at the moment."

She continues, "The country lives . . . on a subsistence level. And they have basically NOTHING in their Sabbath schools in 95 percent of the places. So ANYTHING you could send would be wonderful! Most kids do not own a Bible, and the ones I see have no covers and are falling to pieces."

In 2007 the gross national income per capita in America was $46,040. Guess what it was in the Solomon Islands? Only US$730. No wonder our church members can't afford to buy Bibles and Sabbath school materials!

In the next few weeks we would like to put a smile on those children's faces. Here's what we can do with your help.

1. Put together a container with 4,000 Sabbath school quarterlies for students 2. Add to the container 500 quarterlies for teachers 3. Add 4,000 Memory Verse Cards 4. Add 1,000 Bibles

We anticipate that this is going to cost us $18,000, or about $1 per student. Thank you for sharing your love and support for these needy children in the mission field.
