Pastor Easton G. Marks, Senior Pastor

Pastor Marks thanks his parents, Edwin and Shirley Marks, his adoptive grandparents, the late Nathaniel and Rebecca Smith, and two of his former pastors, Dr. Lael Caesar and Pastor Collin Parkinson, for nurturing him into the man and minister he has become.

Growing up as a Seventh-day Adventist, Pastor Marks gave early evidence of his gifts and call to the gospel ministry. He became an Elder-in-Training in his early teens and began preaching in his church. At sixteen, he conducted his first evangelistic campaign.

Upon graduating College in 1987, Pastor Marks returned to the Guyana Conference where he served as a District Pastor, Personal Ministries/Community Services Director, and Radio Evangelist of the Conference. Before migrating to the United States, he also served as a District Pastor in the East Caribbean Conference on the island of Barbados.

In 1997 Pastor Marks was called by the Southern New England Conference to pastor the Northborough and Worcester’s Pleasant Street Churches in Central Massachusetts. In 2001 he accepted a call from the Greater New York Conference. During his tenure in Greater New York, he served at Hempstead, Victory and Queens Faith Temple.

Pastor Marks has a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and a Master of Management in Conflict Resolution. He is a member of the Adventist Theological Society and the Association for Conflict Resolution, Greater New York Chapter. His ministry as a preacher, trainer and conflict resolution coach has taken him to several Caribbean Islands, across the United States, England and Canada.

He will tell you that his most important credentials are “husband” and “father.” His wife is the former Lavern Archer. Mrs. Marks is a Registered Nurse who has a tremendous burden to provide nursing care to under-served populations.  That led her to become a member of HANDS, Health and Development Services, International which provides short term care in under-served regions of the world.

Pastor and Mrs. Marks are blessed with two beautiful daughters, Este and Ebony. Este is a Biomedical Science major at Oakwood University. Ebony attends the Greater New York Academy.
The Marks family enjoys traveling, meeting people, using their spiritual gifts, and helping young people find their place in the church and society.
